The Arithmelet GUI requires that users enter operands using a keyboard rather than by using the calculator keys, as with the Calculet.
Note that Arithmelet requires a Java2-enabled browser.
The Arithmelet was written by Michael Grobe during April of 2001 as an exercise in Java2 GUI programming and deploying Applets.
